My Story

Lalhmingtana is a precious young boy from the hills of northeast India. He is from the village of Khanpui, which is located in the state of Mizoram. He lives there with his parents, sister, and two brothers. His father is a shifting cultivator. A Shifting Cultivator is someone who burns down portions of hillside jungle and uses the soil to plant a crop. This is not only an inefficient way to support a family, it is also ruining the environment. Unfortunately, as hard as this work is already, the next 3 to 4 years will be even more difficult due to the rat outbreak over the last year and a half. Few crops can be planted until the rats are gone and therefore resources have become even more scarce. Your partnership with God on Lalhmingtana's behalf is a tangible expression of His love and care. Lalhmingtana will be able to attend school and receive the education he so desperately needs to escape the cycle of poverty that is so prevalent in that region. God has a definite plan and a future for this young man, and your sponsorship will help launch him on that path.
